Virgin Islands subpoenas Elon Musk in lawsuit against JP Morgan Billionaire Elon Musk blasted Jeffrey Epstein, who he referred to as a "dumb crook," after he was subpoenaed as part of a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Virgin Islands against JPMorgan Chase & Co., which officials said "financially profited" from deposits made by Epstein. In its filing, Virgin Islands officials say they attempted to serve Musk -- one of the richest men in the world -- with a subpoena . The subpoena appears to seek information about whether Epstein, a financier and convicted sex offender, referred or attempted to refer Musk to JPMorgan, according to the Virgin Islands. A firm contracted by Donald Trump's presidential campaign in November 2020 to investigate claims of voter fraud has been subpoenaed by the special counsel investigating those claims, the founder of the firm told ABC News. Trump's subpoena by the House Jan. 6 committee has been formally withdrawn The House Jan. 6 committee has formally withdrawn its subpoena of former President Donald Trump as the investigation comes to an end days before the next Congress, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.  The chairman of the committee, Rep. Bennie Thompson, informed Trump's lawyers of the decision in a letter on Wednesday -- citing the "imminent end" of the panel's work. "As you may know, the select committee has concluded its hearings, released its final report and will very soon reach its end," Thompson, D-Miss., wrote.
