Rain ends early, then we’ll have some partial clearing during the day, maybe  even see some sunshine at times during the afternoon. High around 50 and evening lows in the mid 30’s with a gusty westerly breeze.

John Donnelly was born in Hialeah, Florida and moved back to Rhode Island and settled in Johnston, where he grew up until graduating from Lyndon State College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.

Unless Washington reaches a deal on the debt ceiling, government payments millions of Americans rely on each month could be in jeopardy in little more than a week. While the deadline politics play out in Washington, the uncertain timeline of exactly what happens next -- both with those payments and to people's bank accounts -- is only adding to growing anxiety. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen maintains the nation could be unable to pay all of its bills in early June, possibly as early as June 1, though the exact date remains unclear. Lawmakers react to Trump's 3rd indictment that alleges he plotted to remain in power

Rep. Jim Jordan, one of Trump's staunchest allies, declared Trump "did nothing wrong" after he was hit with four felony charges. On Tuesday, a third indictment was filed against former President Donald Trump, this time in connection with his efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss. Prosecutor Jack Smith has called for a "speedy trial" on the four charges Trump faces in the latest indictment: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiracy against rights. Trump denies all wrongdoing, claiming political persecution. The reaction on Capitol Hill was swift, with Republican leaders again coming to Trump's defense as they did after he was charged in a New York state indictment and a federal indictment in Florida.
